Every weekday morning, Keziah “Sia” Atofau helps American Samoa wake up alongside John Raynar on 93KHJ’s Samoan Sunrise. Her coffee is strong enough to power a motorcycle, and if you think morning radio is all she does you haven’t been paying attention. She has a personality and heart to match!
Sia wears more hats than most people have closets. She’s a Business Development Specialist for South Seas Broadcasting helping local businesses thrive through effective advertising. She’s an accomplished voice actor whose work brings commercials and productions to life. And you will ocassionally hear her as a DJ on V103 and 104.7 The Beat spinning American Samoa’s best Samoan and rap music.
Around the station, Sia has earned an unofficial title: Voice Identification Expert. When listeners call into Samoan Sunrise, she often knows who it is before they give their name. She also has an uncanny ability to remember people’s license plate numbers and phone numbers which often leads to lots of mirth on-air.Sia Atofau
“Radio isn’t just about playing music or reading ads,” Sia says. “It’s about connecting with people, understanding what they need, and helping businesses reach the right audience at the right time.”
That expertise has made her invaluable to South Seas Broadcasting, her listeners and her community.
Her work on Samoan Sunrise earned national recognition in 2023 when she and John Raynar were named Top 5 Finalists for the NAB Marconi Award for Small Market Personalities of the Year, competing against radio personalities from across the United States.
“Sia brings energy, expertise, and authenticity to everything she touches,” says Joey Cummings, Vice President and General Manager of South Seas Broadcasting. “Whether she’s on the mic or helping a business craft their message, she understands how to connect with people. That’s what makes her indispensable.”
Tune in weekday mornings for Samoan Sunrise, or catch Sia out and about working with customers. Either way, you’re hearing someone who truly loves what she does.
